Two storytellers and an artist unite for their debut book, The Big Book of Hugs, featuring the most important job around, spreading love.

Author Nick Ortner is known worldwide as an inspirational speaker and a New York Times bestselling author. He is the CEO of The Tapping Solution, LLC, executive producer of the documentary “The Tapping Solution,” and the founder of The Tapping Solution Foundation, which has helped heal millions of people around the world. Ortner’s goal is to empower people to create healthy, abundant and stress-free lives via his commitment to spreading a message of hope, healing and joy. Through The Big Book of Hugs, Ortner is thrilled to be bringing this message to children of all ages, and plans to take Barkley the Bear on other adventures in the near future. Nick lives in Newtown, Connecticut with his wife Brenna and their baby daughter June.

Co-author Alison Taylor is an elementary school teacher in CT who hopes to inspire all of her students to work hard and share their gift of kindness to everyone they meet. The Big Book of Hugs is her first children’s book. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University where she is also currently completing her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Literacy. Her passion for reading and writing grew through her graduate work and everyday experiences with her students.

Michelle Polizzi is an award-winning art director, designer and illustrator in Berkeley, California. In her spare time, she can often be found hiking with her family or elbows deep in clay at the local pottery studio. Michelle gravitates toward projects that, like Barkley, are actively spreading love and consciousness to the world, such as The Big Book of Hugs. This is her first picture book, and she is thrilled to have more on the way.
