Nick Ortner is the New York Times best-selling author of “The Tapping Solution: A Revolutionary System for Stress-Free Living” as well as “The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief.” Barkley the Bear is his first children’s book. Nick lives in Newtown, CT with his wife Brenna and baby daughter June. Through his company The Tapping Solution, which he runs with his brother Alex and sister Jessica, he works to empower people through the use of a technique known as “Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)” or “Tapping.” Based on the principles of both ancient acupressure and modern psychology, Tapping helps calm the nervous system to restore balance of energy in the body and rewire the brain to respond in healthy ways.
Co-author Alison Taylor is an elementary school teacher in CT who hopes to inspire all of her students to work hard and share their gift of kindness to everyone they meet. The Big Book of Hugs is her first children’s book. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University where she is also currently completing her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Literacy. Her passion for reading and writing grew through her graduate work and everyday experiences with her students.
